Telehealth Virtual Video Visits with Dr. BucciIntroducing Telehealth Virtual Video Visits at BPH
First of all, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy through this COVID pandemic. And most of all, I hope you are all following the guidelines of the CDC, WHO, Federal Government, State and Local Officials and practicing Proper Social Distancing! One thing I have started to notice since my office has been temporarily closed is a lot of patients reaching out to me because they are in pain. And not being able to come to the office for evaluation and treatment has been problematic for many. Many were under current treatment and had questions on how to support their treatment at home. But many have been past patients developing new complaints and pains over the past couple of weeks. And they are seeking advice on how to combat their issues at home and on their own. And a few have been patients (current and past) just seeking advice on their new routines. It can feel helpless to be unable to do the little things we did just a few short weeks ago (ie setting up an appointment to have your back pain evaluated) Also, life is just different now, isn’t it? Chances are, many of you are able to work from home. So that means a new workstation set-up (I had a patient reach out inquiring about best ergonomics for her new workstation!). Chances are your activity level or workout routine has changed. For instance, I went from swimming and lifting weights at my gym TO running and doing band exercises at home! Yes, I am now running again after all these years. Can you believe it?! And guess what, when you change an activity like that, new things pop up. In my case, my left calf has tightened up. But the key is addressing something like this early, before it progresses to a full blown injury. And that’s what I have done through targeted stretching and rehab (prehab) exercises. Many have had questions about new or chronic pain, or about new workstation setup, or simply other general health questions. And that is why, starting Tuesday March 31st 2020, I will be introducing Telehealth/Virtual Video Consultations to Brilliant Physical Health to help answer these and other questions. As I said previously, patients have been reaching out. But I can only do so much guidance over the phone, through text and through email. This service will allow me to better understand each unique patient condition, help me communicate more thoroughly and concisely, and give better overall advice and recommendations. And I will be transitioning the focus of care for patients from Treatment TO Active Self Care. What will this service look like and include? It will be a virtual video call with yours truly, up to 20 minutes. Every single consultation will be unique according to each patient’s needs. But each call can include all or some of the following:
Taking an active role in your recovery and health is the best advice for our current environment. Chances are you have a bit more free time because most of us are stuck at home! That’s why these virtual video consultations will be largely focused on Assessing your current situation AND then Prescribing Stretches and Exercises that you will help your unique situation. This service will be available to Current Patients, Past Patients, and New Patients. You can join me for a virtual consultation starting Tuesday March 31st. You can join these calls from the comfort of your own home. Talk about convenience! And you can begin to start taking an active role in your Musculo-Skeletal Health! Again, this service is for anyone:
The state expedited new guidelines allowing practitioners to perform telehealth. UPMC and Highmark are both providing insurance coverage for this service in a lot of cases. Highmark is going as far to WAIVE co-pays for some members. Although each insurance plan is different and has unique coverage, these actions are encouraging. Not all insurance plans have coverage, but I can quickly research this for anyone. For those who have insurance, I will pre-certify your coverage before we do these consultations so you know what you might be responsible for upfront. And for anyone with high deductibles or no insurance coverage, I have decided to make this service affordable for direct pay. Please do not hesitate to contact me for details on out of pocket rates OR insurance coverage. And please do not hesitate to contact me with more questions on how these virtual visits will go. I would be happy to provide more information. Ways to ask questions or set up an appointment: Call my Office: 412-517-8436 Text me directly: 412-719-1675 Fill out the form on this page!
