Here's how we handle heel pain through Tele-Health Virtual Visits:
Step 1: Just Talk
A solid history and consultation process can determine so much in healthcare. And it is even more important when determining the source of heel pain.
So, we'll chat about what's going on with your specific issue.
So often, heel pain is misdiagnosed. Because of this fact, this chat is so important.
Through Telehealth, we thoroughly discuss where your pain is AND when it bothers you the most (among other things).
Step 2: Testing through Video Chat
Next, we begin proper testing.
So often, all heel pain is just categorized as Plantar Fasciitis. This misdiagnosis leads to poor treatment outcomes. Here's why...
If your hip motion is significantly altered, it can seriously impact your gait and lead to heel pain.
In this scenario, Plantar Fasciitis would be an incorrect diagnosis.
On the flip side, others may have excessive foot flattening which irritates the Plantar Fascia.
Plantar Fasciitis is the correct diagnosis in this scenario.
The treatment recommendations would differ in each scenario. So often, this is ignored.
This specific testing can be done through virtual video conferencing and it won't overlook the multiple sources of Heel Pain!
Step 3: Explain What to Do
Finally, I prescribe a specific self care plan.
Maybe that includes working on foot/ankle stability, OR working on hip mobilization to improve gait, OR doing self-myofascial release on the foot.
Maybe it's a combination of all the above!
You can be confident you'll have the correct tools to combat your specific heel pain..
The last part of our Virtual Visit will include specific instructions along with a detailed email with video demonstrations for your specific case.
